The Bike

Today I visited my mechanic because I wore off my brakes and needed the spares. One pair of a good V-Brake pad costs 18.000 K$. I needed 2.

My mechanic washed my brain and convinced me of changing to disc brakes, because of handling and reliability, brake pads removing feasibility and just 240 g more in weight. Also, removing a wheel to repair it in the case of a flat tire is very easy with disc brakes system.

I bought disc brake hubs some time ago to put a 2-wheel drive system in my bike, but I have not had the time to complete that project.

He sold me two 160 mm rotors, brakes and levers in 360K$, the entire system weighs 910 g. DEORE reference, black levers and brakes. Plus 20K$ more for his services.

My bike got 240 g more, for a total weight of 12800 g. I will change the rims to lighter ones in the future. I am currently weighing 72 kg, so my bike and I are an 85 kg train of animal propulsion.

Past days I met a guy with an electrical bicycle with 150 W of Power. In a plain and paved terrain the guy could not catch me, even helping the electric motor with his legs. I think I have more than 200 W in my legs

I (challenge) invite my brother to compete with me in his 500 W electric bicycle.
